Gunmen abducted an octogenarian, Mr. Watson Iti, in Bayelsa State.
The casualty is the father of the legislator speaking to Brass Constituency II in the State House of Assembly, Mr. Watson-Alfred Belemote.
It was learnt that the octogenarian was stole by four shooters working
along the conduits of state on Saturday morning.
The casualty, who hails from Okpoama kingdom of Brass Local Government Area, was apparently whisked away while he was conveying the body of his deceased wife for burial from Okpoama funeral home to Egweama when the gunmen struck.
It was learnt that the occurrence happened around 9.25am along the Okpoama-Egweama conduits of the territory.
A source, who talked on state of namelessness, said, "Watson is a regarded boss in Okpoama kingdom. His significant other passed on and her body was stored at the Okpoama funeral home.
"On Saturday, he was taking the body to his significant other maternal home at Egweama which is around seven minutes' from Okpoama when shooters assaulted them.
"The gunmen were four and they were working on a 75 drive watercraft. The boss was going with the coffin bearing his better half's body on a 115 strength speedboat. The shooters shot four times at them and constrained them to stop."
