$2.1bn arms money: Olisa Metuh spends first night in EFCC cell over N1.4bn followed to shy

The continuous examination by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has handled the representative of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, in the Commission's cell in Abuja.

Metuh, who was captured by four agents of the counter unite office from his Abuja home, went through the first night with his investigative specialists at the base camp of the EFCC, noting questions on how the aggregate of N1.4 billion strayed from the record of the Office of the National Security Adviser into an organization, Destra, connected to him.

Interestingly, it was the suspect, who initially implied that the previous President, Goodluck Jonathan, had given him work to do and that he effectively finished the said employment, yet neglected to say what it was and the amount he was paid for and when.

The disclosure by Metuh, as per EFCC authorities, incited the office to shaft its searchlight on money installments from the ONSA, prompting the revelation that he was one of the real recipients of slush assets, now a subject of examination and arraignment by the Federal Government.

It was learnt that out of the $2.1 billion arms reserves, N400 million was exchanged from ONSA to the organization on November 24, 2014 which already had a parity of N6, 676,576.06 just before the significant exchange from the ONSA.

A top source in the EFCC said that Metuh was likewise accepting a regularly scheduled pay of N4 million from ONSA.

A top EFCC source said Metuh was liable to go through the night with them given the heaviness of money related exchanges in ONSA followed to him and his organization.

The source said: "We captured Chief Metuh toward the beginning of today (yesterday) and at this very moment he is as yet being addressed and it is not likely that he will be discharged today.

"We need to complete the cross examination of Metuh on the double, with the goal that we can choose whether to charge him to court or let him to go," the source said.

Metuh, has, however hammered his capture by the EFCC, asserting that he was being abused.

"I have not done anything unlawful. Whatever I have done in compatibility of my office, I can shield it anyplace, whenever," he said.
