Uhuru Kenyatta in Nairobi and said Morocco needs to re-join the AU with no preconditions.

Morocco claims Western Sahara as a feature of its region, a lot of which it has involved subsequent to 1975.

The AU perceives Western Sahara as an autonomous state. The AU, in any case, says it will keep pushing for the privileges of Western Sahara to hold a choice on its self-determination.

1975-76: Morocco attaches 66% of Western Sahara after pilgrim power Spain pulls back.

1984: Morocco leaves the Organization of African Unity (which later turned into the African Union) in challenge at the SADR's admission to the body.
