79-Year-Old Nigerian Grandma Becomes A University Graduate In Katsina State


Taking after years of clear dream and stubborn desire to wear a scholastic outfit and own a degree authentication from a college, a 79-year-old lady has now satisfied that fantasy as she was among 1,678 alumni of Al-Qalam University in Katsina, Katsina State. 


Hajiya Fatima Kurfi, a mother of four with more than 20 grandchildren, was among
those called upon to get their different degrees at the college's meeting, which was held a week ago.

Day by day Trust accumulated that 'Mom Kurfi', as she is affectionately called by course-mates, was conceded into the college in 2005 and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Islamic Studies in 2009, yet her conference function was conceded, with others', till a week ago when the college held its lady meeting for seven sets that have gone through the establishment. 

To Mama Kurfi, age is no boundary to looking for training, as it is a critical apparatus forever. "An uneducated individual is not finished. Regardless of the possibility that he tries different endeavors like business, his absence of training will constrain him significantly," she said. 

Addressing Daily Trust, she said: "When I was youthful, there used to be a grade school in Kurfi town were all my associates went, however I was not among them. After I got hitched, my significant other began to show me how to peruse and compose, and it was with this I could manage my kids," 

Mother Kurfi said, when her better half left for England and she went along with him there, her communicated in English enhanced significantly amid the very nearly three years she spent there. 

"Amid my stay there, I attempted to take care of my instruction however proved unable. Upon my arrival to the nation, I responded to the call to get the formal training as this time I was all the while doing my casual instructing and learning forms," she said.
